Getting Healthy…One Day at a Time.
I have read a lot of articles about health and fitness and what you should and shouldn’t do, so the following article is a combined result of my research and findings.
I am very passionate about health, and I also like to help others get back on track if they have fallen off the wagon of better health. What I have found while striving to maintain my own health is that The key to attaining better health is to develop a strategy to incorporate healthy decisions into daily life.
To achieve health, you must focus your mind on health. See yourself as healthy, fit, and energetic starting right now. I find that when I visualize everyday about the person I want to become, my brain takes what I visualize and helps me to create this person. For instance, ask yourself: How can I improve my health and enjoy the process? As the answers
come to you, jot them down in your journal and decide which ones you want to try. As you set healthy lifestyle goals, write down specifically what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve these goals. Read your goals daily so they become part of you. (This is very important), It may even inspire you to embrace your entire self and decide that this is the time that I want to begin a healthy lifestyle.
Okay so you have decided to embrace and move forward with this new healthy lifestyle. A few things to keep in mind when getting started is to enjoy the food you eat and avoid overeating. When you eat, pay attention to the present moment. Be conscious of what you are eating and how you are feeling as you are doing it. Choose to eat food that you enjoy and that will provide nourishment for your body.
When Shopping for food for your new lifestyle, always bring a list of items that you will need for the week or for 2 weeks. It is also best to buy fresh fruit and vegetables locally grown when possible. They are higher in nutritional content and will taste better. One thing I’d like to mention about eating fruit, to receive the maximum benefit from fresh fruit it must be eaten alone. Enjoy it as an appetizer about 30 minutes before a meal or as a dessert at least two 1/2 hours after your meal.
Okay, that’s it for this post…until next week. Also, please remember to celebrate any progress you achieve, this keeps you motivated for success.
